A Leader in Cayuga County Criminal Justice

Brittany Grome Antonacci was born and raised in the Central New York and the Finger Lakes Regions. She is a graduate of Westhill High School, where she volunteered her time with the Youth Court Program, providing young people with an alternative to the traditional juvenile justice system.

Antonacci attended the University at Albany and graduated in three years with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and Management. After college, she attended Albany Law School where she served as the Executive Editor of the Government Law Review, Executive Member of the Moot Court Board, and the Domenick L. Gabrielli National Family Law Moot Court Competition Chair. She was inducted into the National Order of the Barristers for Trial Advocacy and was awarded the Founder’s and Albany Law Staff Scholarships.

Antonacci was hired at the Albany County District Attorney’s Office in 2012 where she worked as an Assistant District Attorney handling felonies and misdemeanors. She was quickly promoted to the role of Bureau Chief where she was responsible for supervising five Assistant District Attorneys, while handling the busiest case load in the County. During her time in Albany County, she served as a Senior Assistant District Attorney in the Violent Crimes Unit, where she was responsible for investigating and prosecuting hundreds of violent felony offenders.  She also served as Senior Appellate Counsel where she successfully argued before the New York State Court of Appeals, drafted more than sixty appellate briefs, and conducted nearly twenty oral arguments before the New York State Appellate Division, Third Department.

Antonacci joined the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office in 2018 as the Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney, focusing on violent drug offenders and overseeing the investigation and prosecution of felony-level cases. In this role, she also trained and advised Assistant District Attorneys and managed the overall administration and operations of the Office.

She served as Acting District Attorney from 2021 to 2022 and, in 2022, became the first woman elected District Attorney in Cayuga County history. Antonacci has now served as District Attorney for four years.

As the County’s chief law enforcement official, she is responsible for prosecuting all violations of New York State law that occur within the county, from felonies to traffic offenses. She also acts as an advocate, investigator, and legal advisor to the grand jury and local law enforcement agencies, with the overarching goal of ensuring that justice is achieved for everyone.

To the Citizens of Cayuga County,

As a career prosecutor and public servant, dedicated to keeping our community safe, I am seeking your continued support for the important position of Cayuga County District Attorney.

Family and community have always been central to my life, and I am very grateful to be a part of this community. My husband, Mike, and I live in Sennett with our nearly two-year-old daughter, Elle, and our goldendoodle, Moose.

In addition to my work as District Attorney, Mike is a partner and owner at Rialto Wealth Management, helping families with their financial planning needs across New York State and beyond. I am proud to serve on the Board of Directors for Cayuga Counseling Services and the National Alliance on Mental Illness, while Mike volunteers on the boards of several community organizations, including Unity House, ESF, and the Cayuga Community Fund.

For those who may not know, our ties to Cayuga County run strong. My grandfather taught English at East High School in the 50s and 60s and Auburn High School in the 1970s; my uncle was a teacher and principal at Weedsport High School for two decades; my aunt and uncle are lifelong residents; and my cousin is the City Manager.

If re-elected to be your District Attorney, I will continue to bring unmatched experience, a tireless work ethic, and a steadfast commitment to public safety. It would be an honor and privilege to receive your vote this upcoming election. Please reach out and join our team. As always, thank you for your trust and support.

It is an honor to serve as your District Attorney.

Yours Truly,
